Preview

Sinhalite is a formal mineral species, a magnesium aluminium borate named from Sinhala, the Sanskrit name for Sri Lanka. It was originally misidentified as olivine. It is distinct from peridot/olivine, chrysoberyl, zircon, and tourmaline. Collectors and gem cutters may keep it for study and display. It is not medical care.
