Historically important silver ore mineral. The pseudohexagonal tabular crystals with rhombic striation from Mexican localities (particularly the Chispas mine, Sonora) are highly sought by collectors. Forms a continuous series with pearceite (silver arsenic analogue). Associated with other silver sulfosalts including proustite and pyrargyrite.
